Accomplishments
We are proud of our accomplishments over the past ten years.
In particular, we are proud of our physicians, nursing staff, and the quality
of care we provide.
We have an excellent team of registered nurses with many years of experience. Many of these nurses have worked in our local hospitals and offices. They have gone through specialized training in order to administer chemo thereapy and assess patients who receive treatment. Many of our nurses have become chemotherapy certified, and all are chemotherapy qualified.
Oncology Certified Nurses: Our nurses have recieved highly specialized training with many holding National Oncology Certification. This entails completing specialized training specific to the administration of chemotherapy and care of chemotherapy patients. Nurses must pass a National Certification exam to hold this title and complete continuing education annually.
Physicians: Our physicians are specially trained in oncology and hematology and Board Certified in Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine.
Quality: We elected to participate in two national quality studies conducted
by the American Society of Clinical Oncology, called Quality Oncology Practice
Initiative (QOPI). We also participate in the Center for Medicare & Medicaid
Services, called the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI ). We
are committed to maintain the quality of care to our patients. The QOPI
and PQRI studies provide benchmarking and validation that our practice
meets the highest level of oncology standards.
