When the enemy is cancer, get the A-Team on your side, the CBHO-SCCA-Team.
Quality Cancer Care without leaving the area.
Dr. Rado is an oncologist & hematologist. He completed his fellowship at Yale University and served 11 years as a Professor of Oncology at The University of Alabama and is currently a faculty member of the University of Washington Medical Center.
Dr. Rado believes that caring for patients with cancer requires a combination of scientific knowledge and human empathy. He feels that the better we understand the biology of the tumor cell, the more likely we are to make wise recommendations regarding treatment. On the other hand, all treatment decisions, in order to be right, must take into account a patient's goals and hopes. The disease and its treatment take place against a background which includes the patient's family situation, support structure and spirituality. All of these factors have to be addressed if we wish to heal a whole person, and not just treat a tumor.
Dr. Rado treats patients with a wide variety of solid tumors and hematological malignancies. He has developed particular expertise in treating patients with breast cancer, and collaborates closely with doctors at SCCA who share this special interest. He is the lead physician for the Clinical Research Department at CBHO, and Principal Investigator for several clinical trials. This activity makes new, and potentially valuable, drugs available to cancer patients in the Tri-Cities area through participation in clinical trials.
